Securi-T Stoma Paste is a skin cream that helps create a good skin seal with ostomy products. For uneven skin, Stoma Paste helps smooth out the skin surface, improving adhesion between the patient’s skin and ostomy devices.

Using Scuri-T Stoma Paste With A Stoma

While stoma bags and flanges are designed to create a seal around a stoma, occasionally the adhesion between the skin and stoma products break, leading to unwanted and unhealthy leaks and smells. Hollister Securi-T Stoma Paste helps by smoothing over uneven skin, creating a better surface for a flange or skin barrier to stick to. The paste can be applied to the skin barrier product before placement, ensuring that it is going to be placed in the correct position on the skin to secure the seal. However, the paste is not an adhesive itself. It should not be used as a replacement for other Stoma sealants.

Stoma Paste Application Instructions

1. Once you have your new bag and skin barrier ready, remove the backing from the inside of your skin barrier.
2. Open your Securi-T paste tube and apply a small amount to the innermost circle of your Skin Barrier.
3. Be sure not to use too much paste. This could actually impede the adhesive on your skin barrier.
4. Tightly close your paste tube cap back on. Leaving the tube open will dry out the paste, making it ineffective.
5. Apply the skin barrier around your stoma. It may cause a slight burning sensation as it does contain alcohol. If your skin is already sensitive, you may want to use barrier rings rather than paste.
Apply ostomy bag around the stoma.
